Bell Shaped Histogram. However not all symmetric data has a bell shape like Histogram C does. How would you describe the shape of the histogram.
Histogram C is symmetric it has about the same shape on each side. Data that has this pattern are said to be bell-shaped or have a normal distribution. And this produces a nice bell-shaped normal curve over the histogram.
Sep 03 2019 A bell curve graph depends on two factors.
The center is the location of its axis of symmetry. The variable such as age is often skewed which would rule out normality. As long as the shape is approximately the same on both sides then you say that the shape is symmetric. As mentioned the normal distribution has no bounds but it is sometimes used for bounded variables.
